DreamPoker.com Review

DreamPoker.com is a Microgaming (formerly Prima Poker) skin that is making a real effort to attract new players. It has a number of promotions that will appeal to players of all levels. My main interest is with their freerolls and the reload bonuses that they sometimes offer.

$10 Free

Today, (4th Feb '07) I have just heard that the $10 no deposit introduction bonus has been withdrawn and been replaced with a $50 up front match bonus. This is bad news for freerollers but better for new small stakes players. They now get 25% of their first deposit credited immediately to their account. See the deposit bonuses section below.

MTT Freerolls

Secondly they offer access to the regular Microgaming MTT freerolls These happen 4 times a day, there are 3x $1000 and one $200. When I was starting out in poker I used to play in them regularly, eventually getting some cashes (but never making it to the final table).

NEW Sit and Go NL freerolls have now been introduced. See my review of freeroll SnG's.

The star attractions, however are:
  • the unrestricted Lucky $7,000 MTTs exclusive to Dream players
  • the Dirty Dozen Satellite competitions
  • the $1000 Friday night MTTs for 100 raked hands
People are now starting to realize the value of the Wednesday evening Lucky $7000 MTTs and they are attracting more and more entrants each time. They now appear every week and the max number of entrants is set at 6,000 so even if they eventually fill up you are still comfortably above a subsidised buy-in of $1/player.

The Dream Dirty Dozen competition is an example of a good freeroll satellite. Each month there are 12 heats that put the top 50 people through to a final with a prize pool of $5,000. Dream is effectively giving each of the 600 finalists an $8.33 entry fee. The tournament winner also gets a Dream upto the value of $3,500. You need to deposit $20 and play 25 raked hands to qualify.

If you like to play the cash tables ( which I do, the Microgaming system is one my favourite two systems) and can play 100 raked hands a week then the $1,000 Friday Night Tournament should be your TOP PRIORITY FREEROLL.

It typically attracts 60 entrants. This gives an SBI of $16.67. If you can find better value than this anywhere please write and let me know.

So near and yet so far. I am the Bubble Boy.

Dream Loyalty Points

This is Dreampoker's premium promotion. Earn Dream loyalty points by playing in cash games. It is geared towards high rollers; the prizes look pretty good but you have to play a lot to qualify. Its value to freerollers - realistically, slim to none.

They have just introduced a new system of loyalty points, but to qualify you need to register at their website. If you don't do this you won't accumulate any points.

Deposit Bonuses

They will give you 25% of your inital deposit upfront (upto $50 on a deposit of $200) and ask you to play at $0.25/$0.50 or above to clear it. If you feel comfortable at that level it will clear it at the rate of $1 per 5 raked hands. I notice from the site's terms and conditions that you actually have to put money into the pot for it to count as a raked hand (rather than the more normal policy of just being dealt cards). So if you are Mr Tight it will take longer to clear than if you are a typical Prima maniac.

You will occasionally get some nice little reload offers. Here's an example:

Claim your free $25 Bonus UPFRONT!

Because you prefer to play DreamPoker, we’ve decided to reward you with our new Buy25 Reload Bonus! Next time you deposit $25 or more in your DreamPoker account, we’ll reward you with a BONUS $25 UPFRONT!* To claim your Bonus, simply make your deposit and email us the code “NOV25” before Friday 24 November.

*100 raked hands are required to cash in the Buy25 Reload promotion

Conclusion

My experience here has been good. I have moved money in and out with Neteller and never had any problems.

I rate this site A-.   Eat, Sleep, Dream Poker!

The only area where the site dropped points was the initial deposit bonus which may take longer to clear than you first think.
